Research Associate - Remote

Monster Worldwide is seeking a talented Research Associate to join our Fastweb team! The Research Associate is responsible for conducting online research to locate new financial aid opportunities in the form of college scholarships, grants, loans, internships, essay contests and other opportunities for inclusion in the Fastweb awards database. The associate will also update and maintain existing scholarship information in the Fastweb awards database. The associate translates found scholarship information into the prose and coding conventions of the Fastweb awards database. Each Research Associate contributes to monitoring the health of the database.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding how to use a proprietary database in order to code information into said database. Coding involves not only translating the data into the prescribed fields, but understanding the relationship between data fields that employ Boolean logic. This relationship is crucial to the accuracy of the scholarship search results impacting both user satisfaction and company revenues.
  • Negotiating the Internet quickly to locate required educational information. This includes understanding Internet architecture and how educational programs post their information.
  • An understanding of the nuanced needs of a wide variety of educational programs, including, but not limited to:
    • High schools
    • Two- and four-year colleges and universities
    • Distance or online programs
    • Graduate schools
    • Post-graduate schools
    • Professional/Trade schools
    • Libraries
    • Museums
    • Governmental organizations
    • Non-governmental organizations
    • For-profit businesses
    • Non-profit businesses
    • Sororal or Fraternal organizations
  • Independently monitor the integrity and health of the database.
  • The ability to write correctly and to employ the “Fastweb Voice” where required.
  • The ability to edit correctly, not only another team member’s work, but also one’s own.
  • Employ an independent ability to solve problems successfully.
  • Be team oriented.
  • The ability to communicate professionally with the department’s external client (sponsor) base, and address issues, answer questions and solve problems as they arise.
  • Other duties as needed/assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Be self-motivated and able to work independently. Computer literacy, including, but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Be team-oriented and demonstrate the ability to work well with a variety of groups.
  • Excellent verbal and written (narrative and editing) communication skills.
  • Developed organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Ability to manage short-term projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
