Monster is seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Information Security Office to globally direct strategy, operations, and the budget for the protection of enterprise information assets. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the responsibility encompasses multiple disciplines, including security engineering & architecture, fraud prevention & customer compliance, governance, risk, and IT compliance.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage all teams, employees, contractors, and vendors involved in IT security
  • Leverage information security team and technology to support a secure infrastructure, secure applications, and overall data security
  • Maintain a risk management program for technology efforts
  • Lead strategic security planning with IT, development teams, and users across the organization
  • Review and approve security policies, controls, and cyber incident response planning
  • Review investigations after breaches or incidents, including impact analysis and recommendations for avoiding similar vulnerabilities
  • Maintain a current understanding of the IT threat landscape for the industry
  • Ensure global compliance with the changing laws and applicable regulations; translate that knowledge to identification of risks and actionable plans to protect the business
  • Coordinate the delivery of security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests
  • Make sure that cyber security policies and procedures are communicated to all personnel and that compliance is enforced
  • Provide training and mentoring to security team members
  • Constantly update the cyber security strategy to leverage new technology and threat information
  • Brief the executive team on status and risks, including taking the role of champion for the overall strategy and necessary budget
  • Communicate best practices and risks to all parts of the busin Provide guidance to management on a wide range information security standards, best practices, and compliance requirements
  • Work with engineering and architecture teams to ensure security is appropriately built into the software development lifecycle
  • Oversee Monster’s Fraud Prevention & Customer Compliance teams, which analyze and prevent attempts at inappropriate use of Monster services
  • Advise and assist in creating programs necessary to achieve ISO27001, SSAE16/18 SOC2 or equivalent certifications, where appropriate.

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or technical discipline, or equivalent experience in an IT-related field
  • 10 years of experience in the information security field, especially in a security engineering or architecture role, and 5+ years of leadership in an information security role
  • Proven experience with current IT security technologies
  • Demonstrated understanding of technological trends and developments in the areas of information security, risk management, web architectures, and cloud computing
  • Demonstrated ability to frame security and risk-related concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Ability to put security risks in appropriate business contexts, and to work with the businesses to prioritize security improvements that maximize business risk reduction

 

 

 

 

Additional Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Professional information security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA
  • Ability to drive organizational change and work with multiple global and complex business units of an organization to effect change
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Strong management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills up to and including board level
