Cloud Solutions Architect

Working as part of our Cloud Operations and Platform services teams, your role will be to work in a collaborative environment, problem solving and working with agile teams to deliver a world class, modern, secure platform. To succeed in this role, you will be required to understand requirements from stakeholders, create patterns and define processes using industry best practices and frameworks to deliver on our objectives.   

Primary Functions: 

• Creating design patterns and best practices using native cloud services and a containerized microservices model.
• Recommend ways to improve reliability, scalability, performance, and while managing risk and cost
• Help increase the reuse of common processes and services and reduce unnecessary duplication
• Partake in peer reviews and cross team code reviews to ensure all solutions developed meet required standards
• Analyze source systems, define underlying application and transformation requirements, design and document the design/specifications
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the Cloud Operations, Security, and Platform Services team’s processes and collective skill sets
• Provide insight into the changing cloud services environment, and offer suggestions and solutions to improve efficiency
• Influence stakeholders on the case for change
• Ability to build and articulate an architecture assessment and communicate current to future state plans, focused on clear benefits to both IT and business users
• Ability to evaluate latest cloud technologies and trends to recommend options to accelerating Monster’s journey to a cloud native platform

Knowledge and Skills: 

• Diverse technical background with over 5 years of experience in the development of cloud platforms in an Agile environment
• Over 3 years of experience working within a production cloud infrastructure including design, implementation, and maintenance in the big 3 cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• At least 3 years of experience developing secure, resilient, and cost-effective solutions for Identity management and cloud infrastructure in a multi-region multi cloud environment.
• Experience being a mentor and working collaboratively with others to build consensus
• Experience of deploying Infrastructure as Code preferably using Terraform and CloudFormation
• Knowledge of CI\CD best practices
• Relentless focus on continuous improvement of solutions and processes to improve application reliability, efficiency, quality
• Good communications skills across all levels of stakeholder (executive, business and technical)
• Able interpret and apply solutions that meet NIST, SOC2, and GDPR requirements

Nice to Have: 

• Experience implementing solutions that meet regulatory requirements
• Architected and supported solutions using AWS landing zones in a multi-account / multi-region environment
• Working knowledge of AWS services such as IAM, RDS, EKS, and Cloud networking concepts
• Experience implementing and supporting Identity Management solutions
• Previously worked with development teams spread across multiple time zones
• Use of tools such as Datadog, Hashicorp, MuleSoft, Apigee and PagerDuty
• Previously experience with AWS Managed Services.
• Able to analyze and interpret security threats and develop a plan of action
• Led the development of Incident response and Disaster recovery plans to meet business requirements.
