Monster Government Solutions (MGS) is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Manager of Product Development to lead a dynamic team working on the creation of the next generation set of applications for delivering problem solving technology for states and local agencies. This individual will work collaboratively with the cross-functional teams to define, scope, and implement development plans in support to Monster Government Solution's overall vision, strategy and goals.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Lead, mentor and provide guidance to a team of Product Owners and Business Analysts working on delivering custom implementations of MGS solutions
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities to develop improved processes for managing customers and capturing evolving business needs from MGS customers and market
  • Understand the MGS products and customers to identify risks and to lead the team in creating plans for mitigating risks or creating communications for managing customers
  • Lead the efforts of the Technical Writer to deliver and maintain comprehensive help resources for supporting product usability
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Professional Services and Sales teams to scope and create customer solutions
  • Manage and monitor the profitability of the development for customer deliverables against contracted terms
  • Work in collaboration with technology and project management to provide status and direction for customer delivery planning and stakeholder communication
  • In collaboration with Sales/Professional Services/Technology direct team for reviewing and responding to customer RFP’s
  • Working with technology and project management develop LOE responses for customer enhancement requests
  • Collaborating with Technology develop and manage resource plans for continued customer delivery
  • Create recommendations on build or buy for functionality for delivery customer functionality that might require leveraging third-party technologies
  • Manage the day to day staff activities for employees and contractors, including but not limited to goal setting and annual reviews, contract SOW’s, recruiting and hiring, time sheets. Scope and Complexity
  • Has the authority to direct daily work activities of employees. Has the authority to take the following employment actions: hiring, termination, corrective action, performance reviews
  • Problems are highly varied, complex and often non-recurring, requiring novel and creative approaches to resolution
  • Decisions contribute to important strategy, operational and business decisions that affect the department

Job Requirements

  • 5-8 years Educational Requirements
  • Required Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing teams working in Software development using the Agile Methodology
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative team builder who can work with cross-functional teams
  • Strong ability to understand complex situations and develop plans and processes to provide direction for the team
  • Ability to manage and mentor a large team across delivering for multiple customers
